Livelihood

So far over 4,000 SHGs, with a membership of over 40,000 women, have been formed under various projects. Many SHGs have been given loans from the banks and these women are earning meaningful income.


Training are organised from time to time in different vocations to develop skills and entrepreneurship among the trainees. Some of the trades are: tailoring, leaf plate and bowl making, lac bangle making, agro-forestry, production and sale of handicraft items like paper and cloth bag, soft toys, wood item, drugget weaving, photo frame making, gift item making, etc.

Financial literacy is a must for promoting livelihood among the target people. Awareness drives are conducted to create awareness about savings, linkage with bank, joint liability group, self-help group, farmers’ club, pension, insurance, micro insurance, etc. This is specially organised in the villages where banking facility has not yet made inroads.

JZPSS is working as entrepreneur friend to guide prospective entrepreneur. The activities include establishing industrial unit, electric connection, no objection certificate from the pollution control board, etc.

The organisation is also working in national urban livelihood mission scheme in Churu and Sikar cities. SHGs have been formed. Nearly 150 below poverty line (BPL) families have been arranged given personal loans under the scheme. Their children were extended help in getting scholarship and other family members in getting old age pension and widow pension as appropriate.
