Childline

ZPSS is running Childline 1098 in Churu district of Rajasthan with the support of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, and Child India Foundation.


Childline is India’s first 24 hour free national emergency phone help, useful for needy children. To use its services toll free no. 1098 may be dialled. It is not only responsible for emergency needs of the children, but also works for their long term care and rehabilitation.

Generally Childline works for protection of rights of all the children, but it pays more attention to the children hailing from weaker sections of the society. Particularly it works for the following:

  • Street children and children living alone on streets
  • Child labour and children working in unorganised sector
  • Domestic aids
  • Children affected by physical/sexual/psychological exploitation in families, schools and institutions
  • Children needing psychological support and guidance
  • Children of sex workers
  • Children abandoned by parents or guardians
  • Lost children
  • Children victim of psychotropic material
  • Disabled children
  • Children fighting law
  • Children working in institutions
  • Mentally retarded children
  • HIV/AIDS infected children
  • Children affected by conflict and disaster
  • Refugee children
  • Children whose families are threatened
