Brief History

Jhunjhunu Zila Paryavaran Sudhar Samiti was founded on August 15, 1991, and formally registered as a society on February 17, 1992. Initially it worked on environmental issues only. After some time it was realised that there were many other issues in the society on which work needed to be done. At present the organisation is working on different issues for overall development of the people with their participation for bringing happiness and prosperity in the life of common man.

Right from beginning JZPSS  is acting as a link between the Government and common man. It has worked/is working on different issues like child rights, exploitation of women, health, nutrition, livelihood, drinking water, education, mother and child health, save girl teach girl, environment protection, road safety, destitute and children, clean India campaign, etc. It is running Jan Aushadhi Kendras (people’s medicine centre) and working with artisans also.

The organisation has emerged as a credible organisation at all levels with the cooperation and collaboration of government and non-government organisations and departments and widespread people’s participation. For its work it has been honoured regularly at the district, state and national levels.  These honours motivate the organisation to work for upliftment of the society with further strength.

JZPSS completed 25 years of its service to the people in 2016. It looks forward to an even more eventful time ahead.
